Celebrate the Holidays in Stowe, Vermont

The holidays are a magical time of year in Stowe, Vermont. With snow falling and holiday lights aglow around quaint shops and historic buildings, skiing and riding, and other winter activities, there’s no better place to be! There are plenty of festive events as well as last-minute holiday shopping and dinner celebrations to get into the holiday spirit. Read below to see what’s happening in 2022.

Festive Fun Events 

Partake in fun family events including the Spruce Peak Lights Festival, Skate with Santa at Stowe Arena., and the Annual New Year’s Eve Celebration at Spruce Peak. Bring on winter at the Winter Solstice Party by Stowe Cider. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the Winter Solstice Sunset Walk with Stowe Land Trust and the New Years’ Eve Gourmet Fondue Snowshoe Tour with Umiak Outdoor Outfitters.

Hanukkah events at Jewish Community of Greater Stowe (a.k.a. JCOGS) include the 1st Night Large Menorah Lighting, Hanukkah on Ice, and a Musical Hanukkah & Shabbat with the JCOGS band. History, arts and culture events include Messiah Sing-In at the Stowe Community Church, Stowe, At Night, Lantern Tours’ holiday-themed history tours, Jazz at the Peak with Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center.

Holiday Feasts

Many of Stowe’s restaurants and cafes will be open during the holiday week. Several will be open on Christmas Day, including Alpine Hall and Tipsy Trout at Spruce Peak, Charlie B’s at Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa, Idletyme Brewing Co., the Trapp Family Kaffehaus and the von Trapp Brewing Bierhall. Additionally, most venues will be open for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Be sure to check restaurant hours and call for reservations in advance!
