Solar Eclipse TrekLearn More and Book

Join Umiak Outdoor Outfitters on a guided trek to view the solar eclipse’s path of totality!

On April 8, 2024, a rare total solar eclipse will cross the U.S., plunging a 124-mile-wide path stretching from Mexico to Canada into night-like darkness. Stowe, Vermont will be part of the state to experience the rare marvel of “totality” of the eclipse, causing day to turn to night. This is a unique and memorable experience not only witnessing the breathtaking phenomenon of the solar eclipse but doing so while surrounded by the beauty of Vermont’s natural landscape.

The tour will offer hot apple cider from Cold Hollow Cider Mill, crackers, and select cheeses from Cabot Cheese.

Appropriate footwear for this activity will depend on the weather conditions. In snowy and icy conditions, participants will be provided with snowshoes or other equipment designed to provide traction grip. Solar eclipse viewing glasses (ISO 12312-2 compliant and CE certified) are included.

There is no guarantee of a clear sky while viewing. Nonetheless, when the Moon obscures the Sun for three minutes, the sky will darken as if it were night, creating a unique and memorable experience despite the weather conditions.

SAFETY
It is not safe to look directly at the Sun without specialized eye protection for solar viewing. Viewing any part of the bright sun through a camera lens, binoculars, or a telescope without a special-purpose solar filter secured over the front of the optics will instantly cause severe eye injury. Solar eclipse viewing glasses (ISO 12312-2 compliant and CE certified) are included in the price of the tour.

Please see more safety instructions provided by NASA.
