Fall is a festive time of year in Stowe! All the Vermont flavors you love—apple cider, cider doughnuts, craft beverages, cheese, and maple everything!—along with the area’s world-famous foliage make it the perfect fall escape. Although things look a little different this year, local businesses and organizations have come together to provide a safe and memorable experience at events in Stowe this fall. Take in the beautiful colors, breathe in the crisp autumn air and prepare to #fallintostowe at these 6 events!
There Will Be Music. By Craftsbury Chamber Players
Stowe Performing Arts has lined up a live chamber music event on September 18 with their friends from Craftsbury Chamber Players. This special addition to their “Outdoor Socially-Distanced Concert Series” on the road features the music of Beethoven, Brahms, Dvorák, Tchaikovsky, Fauré and Schubert on violin, piano and cello. While there is no entry fee for this concert, a contribution to the artists on the evening of the concert is encouraged.
Oktoberfest at Trapp Family Lodge
Kick off the fall season at von Trapp Bierhall with the 11th annual Oktoberfest on September 19 and 20! Try their lager beers and Austiran cuisine while enjoying live music—all while maintaining physical distancing. With safety a priority, tickets are being sold by the table at various seating times. Be sure to make your reservation as soon as possible!
Live Music at Stowe Cider
Feel the crisp fall breeze under the vibrant treetops of The Garden at Stowe Cider while enjoying live music and sipping on local ciders, teas and seltzers. Their social distance-friendly Cider Garden hosts a variety of musicians Thursday through Sunday.
1st Annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day Rocks!
The inaugural Indigenous Peoples’ Day Rockcelebration on October 10 features Native American recording artist and Grammy winner Joanne Shenandoah. The event includes a blessing by Chief of the Nulhegan Abenaki Nation, Nulhegan Abenaki drummers, Nulhegan Abenaki authors and storytellers, and musical performances by Dave Keller and John Fusco. Reservations are required and include a private circle on the lawn for your party of up to 8 guests, circles are spaced 10 feet apart.
Stowe Farmers’ Market
Continuing the locally-grown and crafted Vermont tradition every Sunday this fall through October 11, the Stowe Farmers’ Market takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine, with new shopping procedures as a result of COVID-19. Find locally-grown produce, handcrafted goods and handmade breads, pastries and more!
Exposed
Take a scenic fall stroll through the Historic Stowe Village and Stowe Recreation Path to see outdoor sculptures. These large-scale sculpture installations are on display through October and are inspiring against the picturesque fall foliage backdrop of downtown Stowe.
