5 Summer Events in Stowe Re-Imagined

June 26, 2020

by GO STOWE

Summer in Stowe is a magical time of year. Green Mountain views, bold blue skies and fresh country air make the perfect backdrop for all your outdoor adventures, including Stowe’s famous summer events. With safety as a top priority, our local businesses have been hard at work reinventing our events to continue to spread the summertime cheer during these unconventional times. Here are a few upcoming events this summer and how they’ve changed.

Stowe Farmers’ Market

Sundays through October 11
Stowe’s farm-to-table foods, farm-fresh produce and local artisan goods will be available every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Stowe Farmers Market field next to the Red Barn Shops on the Mountain Road. Although things may look a little different to ensure safety, you can still experience the magic of buying locally-grown and sourced products. Guests will be required to wear masks, wash hands, have the ability to pre-order goods online and more.

Socially Distant Cider Saturdays

Saturdays through the summer
Join Stowe Cider in their beautiful new outdoor garden for live music and ciders on Saturdays throughout the summer! Enjoy their traditional Cider Saturdays with a “twist” for safety. Make a reservation for an outdoor table to sip local craft beverages and take in some live tunes among the sweet garden scenes.

Exposed

Daily July 11 – October 17
Gather the family and get outside while enjoying beautiful artwork  outdoors! Exposed, an outdoor sculpture exhibition put on by Helen Day Art Center, will feature unique sculptures you can visit in a safe manner in the historic Stowe Village. The large-scale sculptural installations will be on display through the fall starting July 11.

Fireworks for Fourth of July

July 4
The Town of Stowe will be launching fireworks for Stowe residents and visitors staying at Stowe lodging properties. Celebrate the Fourth of July with friends and family during the day, and take in the firework display right from your home or lodging accommodations. Due to COVID-19 there will not be gatherings nor places to park and view the fireworks, but Stowe still wants to launch some firework cheer for everyone in town.

Stoweflake Hot Air Balloon Festival

July 10 – 12
Although Stowe’s famous Stoweflake Hot Air Balloon Festival will not be held in its traditional festival format with a gathering and activities, Stoweflake will be launching a handful of balloons over the town of Stowe on the weekend of July 10-12 for all to enjoy from the comfort of where they are: at home, lodging accommodations or on the trail. This is a nod to the festivals roots, which started 34 years ago and to show Stowe spirit while remaining #StoweStrong. Be sure to step outside and look up during your weekend adventures.

While our summer may be different than we imagined, Stowe is still open and full of fun. Learn more about traveling to Stowe during COVID-19 and the current status of business operations in town. Whether you’re able to join us in-person or at a virtual event, we look forward to seeing you soon.
