Join us for an enlightening lecture dedicated to illuminating female artists’ often-forgotten and underappreciated contributions throughout history. Together we will explore the historical neglect of female artists\, who have been overlooked and marginalized in the art world\, and the current efforts to re-evaluate and celebrate women’s contributions to art. \nThursday\, September 12: Currently Speaking: Poetry and Consciousness\, presented by Bianca Stone\, 2024 Vermont poet laureate. A poetry reading and talk will explore how our Cartesian confining of consciousness to the human brain has allowed for the unprecedented destruction of the natural world. This talk will discuss how poetry uniquely situates language as a medium in which to illuminate a much greater consciousness\, accessing complex psychical relations between people\, nature\, the cosmos\, and the unknowable. \nThursday\, October 17: Currently Speaking: Artist Talk\, presented by exhibiting artists\, Chakaia Booker and Justin Sanz.
