We host an outdoor tent party featuring a walk-around wine tasting & food sampling where 100% of proceeds from ticket sales go to the Vermont Foodbank. \nRoots showcases over 80+ natural wine curated by Cork\, local beer & cider producers\, and local bites from restaurants & artisans. Roots is also a zero-waste event. The Vermont Foodbank has secured $50\,000 in donor matches. The goal for 2023 is to match if not exceed our 2022 donation of over $108\,000 so between ticket sales and additional donations the hope is to secure $60\,000 this year. \nWHY?: 2 in 5: The number of people in Vermont who have experienced food insecurity in the past year. (UVM NFACT July 2022) \n\nThose experiencing job interruptions had 4.3x greater odds of experiencing food insecurity.\nWomen were 7.3x more likely to be food insecure\nFamilies with children were 5.1x more likely to face food insecurity than those without.
