WHAT IS ROOTS? : Roots is a community-based fundraising event presented by Cork and Strawberry Hill Farm. The  outdoor tent party features a walk-around wine tasting and food sampling where 100% of proceeds from ticket sales go to the Vermont Foodbank.

Roots showcases over 80+ natural wine curated by Cork, local beer & cider producers, and local bites from restaurants and artisans. Roots is also a zero-waste event. The Vermont Foodbank has secured $50,000 in donor matches. The goal for 2023 is to match if not exceed the 2022 donation of over $108,000 so between ticket sales and additional donations the hope is to secure $60,000 this year.

● Those experiencing job interruptions had 4.3x greater odds of experiencing food insecurity.

● Women were 7.3x more likely to be food insecure

● Families with children were 5.1x more likely to face food insecurity than those without.
