5th Annual Chowderpalooza & Spring Art On Park To Take Place in Stowe May 25

Chefs from 11 Local Vermont Restaurants to Compete

STOWE, VT (May 15, 2019) – Chowder lovers unite in Stowe every spring for Chowderpalooza & Spring Art On Park. This signature Stowe event features chowder tastings from local restaurants alongside an artisan market. Hosted by Stowe Vibrancy, the 5th annual event will take place on Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Park Street in Stowe.

Attendees will have the opportunity to sample creative chowder recipes, and vote for their favorite. Chefs from 11 local restaurants will compete to be the 1st Place People’s Choice Winner. This year’s participating restaurants include: The Bistro at Ten Acres, The Butchery, Charlmont, Cliff House Restaurant at Stowe Mountain Resort, Cork Wine Bar & Market, Edson Hill, El Toro, The Lodge at Spruce Peak, Piecasso Pizzeria & Lounge, The Stowehof and Sunset Grille & Tap Room. Last year’s winner was Trapp Family Lodge with a Roasted Poblano Chowder with Lobster.

Spring Art on Park is the first in a summer series of artisan markets on Park Street in the Village featuring local artists, handmade goods, live music and specialty food and beverages. There will also be face painting, henna body art and children’s free play activities on the Village Green. Madeleine, an independent artist and singer-songwriter based out of Nashville, Tennessee, will perform live during the event.

Chowderpalooza & Spring Art On Park is one of several signature events organized by Stowe Vibrancy, a non-profit organization that works to increase the vibrancy of the Town of Stowe through the enhancement of social, recreational, cultural, economic and physical characteristics of the village. “We’re thrilled for the return of this spring tradition,” said Aimee Green, executive director, Stowe Vibrancy. “We look forward to kicking off the summer season with this event and cannot wait to taste the chefs’ chowder creations.”

The rain date for Chowderpalooza & Spring Art On Park is Sunday, May 26, 2019. The cost for Chowderpalooza is $6 per person, which includes a wrist band for chowder sampling and voting. Art On Park is open and free to the public. This event is presented by The Alchemist.
