It’s always fun to go on vacation with a group of people, especially with family or friends. Yet, traveling solo can be a great opportunity to explore yourself as well as a new place you’ve always wanted to go. March 1 is recognized as Plan a Solo Vacation Day, a day that encourages people to venture out and create their own solitary adventure.

One advantage of traveling solo is the ability to design an itinerary just for you. Stowe is a unique destination for the lone traveler with its scenic beauty, outdoor recreation, vibrant cultural scene, variety of lodging options and access to major cities. The Adventurer
If you like discovering new activities and experiences, there are plenty of ways to challenge your inner adventurer in Stowe. Fly through the forest on a zip line on either side of Smugglers’ Notch, learn to mountain bike with a local expert, perfect your paddling skills or set out on a day hike and conquer Mt. If you appreciate fine art, crafts and local historyyou’ll enjoy exploring Stowe’s vibrant arts scene in this New England town steeped in history. Discover local, national and international artist are on display. The Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum showcases the state’s ski and snowsports history. For the performing arts lover, no trip to Stowe is complete without catching a show. Budding photographers can take a light stroll to one of the area’s pinnacles, waterfalls or covered bridges for pictures of Stowe’s stunning landscapes.
