Summer in Stowe is a time to enjoy all Vermont has to offer. With an abundance of views, outdoor activities and gorgeous weather (not too hot!), Stowe is the perfect place for a fun and relaxing summer getaway. A recent Boston Herald article featured Stowe as an ideal spot for hiking, dining, culture and more. With an extensive trail network that is accessible to all ages and abilities, it’s no wonder hiking is one of several popular summer activities in Stowe. While hiking and other outdoor activities are enjoyable in their own right, Stowe’s scenic landscape creates a special, memorable experience as you take in breathtaking views with each swing, step, pedal, paddle and zip. Unwind in the beautiful Vermont countryside as you explore these 5 favorite summer outdoor activities in Stowe:

Golf

Stowe is an ideal location for a golf getaway, with several well-maintained golf courses in the area that afford panoramic mountain views. Take in the fresh Green Mountain air as you explore 9- and 18-hole course options that accommodate a variety of abilities and budgets. Warm up on the driving range. Rentals and professional instruction are available.

Hiking

With an extensive trail network, Stowe is a great destination for summer hiking. One of the most physically prominent natural features of Stowe is Mt Mansfield, Vermont’s tallest peak. The Long Trail, America’s oldest trail network, and surrounding trails to the summit, are well traversed in the summer by experienced hikers. There are also plenty of leisurely walks and moderate hikes through the woods or to several waterfalls that are perfect for families with children. Pack a picnic and unplug in nature!

Mountain Biking

Named a “mountain biking mecca” by The Boston Globe, Stowe features a world-class trail system that is well maintained and suitable for all ability levels. Mountain bikers explore single-track mountain bike trails through forests with scenic views along the way. Stowe is also home to mountain bike events including the B3 Fest – Bikes, Brews & Beats (June 29 – July 1).
