Beginning Friday, November 30, Stowe is a destination for holiday cheer. With tree lightings, a Main Street lighting, local performances of holiday classics and plenty of opportunities to check items off your gift list, Stowe is ready to entertain. Below are a few seasonal events happening around town this holiday season.
A Traditional Christmas in Stowe

Tree lightings, wagon rides, Santa visits, reindeer, parade and so much more will kick off the holiday season in Stowe, Vermont. A Traditional Christmas in Stowe is back for its 10th year and will feature three days full of everyone’s favorite holiday traditions. The weekend will kick off Friday night with a lighting of Main Street and will end on Sunday with a Frozen Party & Character Skate with Stowe Parks & Recreation and “A Christmas Carol” at Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center.
Festival of Trees and Light & Members’ Art Show
When: November 30 – December 29, 2018
Where: Helen Day Art Center
For one month, the Helen Day Art Center will dedicate their gallery walls to their members for the Members’ Art Show & Sale, while presenting the Festival of Trees and Light. Join them in celebrating the season with a group exhibition featuring members’ artwork among evergreen trees decorated by master artisans, beautiful Hanukkah display of menorahs, games and dreidels. This festival will be a great opportunity to find a unique, meaningful gift for the art lover in your life.

Spruce Peak Resort Association presents “A Christmas Carol”

Watch this timeless classic come to life at Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center in Stowe. This imaginative production by the Vermont Youth Theatre features four-part singing, dancing gravediggers, riffs on ancient carols and blues, classical, Latin rhythm and contemporary savoir fair.
Holiday Happenings at Decisions

Join Decisions for a Holiday Happenings event with Vermont artisans. Each week Decisions, a women’s apparel boutique, will feature a different local Vermont craft producer. Shop for exquisite Christmas tree ornaments on December 2 with Little River HotGlass Studio from Moscow. On December 8, Uncle George’s Flowers will make you a personalized holiday arrangement. You get to choose the colors, flowers, container and their skilled florist will make a beautiful bouquet.
‘Every Christmas Story Ever Told (and Then Some!)’

Looking for a non-traditional Christmas play to attend? The Lamoille County Players presents this romp through the holiday season. Instead of performing Charles Dickens’ holiday classic, three actors decide to perform every Christmas story every told. This performance includes Christmas traditions from around the world, seasonal icons from ancient times, pop-culture and every carol ever sung.
Holiday Ugly Sweater Party at von Trapp Brewing
