Shop for the holidays.
Get a head start on holiday shopping at more than 40 country stores, apparel boutiques, craft galleries and sporting goods stores. Expand your Vermont horizons and continue shopping along the legendary Route 100 into Waterbury and the Mad River Valley for more of the best shopping along this scenic corridor.

Savor the flavors.
Named the “#1 Ski Town for Foodies” by Fodor’s Travel, you can spend a whole day stopping at area specialty food stores, like Laughing Moon Chocolates in the Village. Grab an ice cream cone at the Ben & Jerry’s Flagship store, and be sure to stop by Cold Hollow Cider Mill and not only watch how cider doughnuts are made, but also take a dozen for the road!

There’s even a chance to ski or snowboard in the fall! Stowe Mountain Resort opens up on November 19 with world-class snowmaking and grooming. It’s also not too farfetched for snow to fall in November! A walk through Smugglers’ Notch on Route 108, which is closed to automobiles during the winter months, is always a spectacular treat.
