by GO STOWE

Warmer temperatures, sunnier skies, softer snow, open spaces and longer days are a few reasons why you need to spring into Stowe this year. Treat yourself to a spring break vacation in the Green Mountains and see why Stowe was recently named one of Travel + Leisure‘s 11 Best Small Towns in America. Springtime is a hidden gem as it’s a great time to experience all Stowe has to offer—both outdoors and indoors. Here are 6 reasons to tap into spring with us:

1) Spring Skiing & Riding

Not ready to say goodbye to the snow of winter? Spring can offer sunnier days on the mountain and softer snow for continued mountain fun. Stowe Mountain Resort offers spring skiing and snowboarding all the way through April 18, 2021 (weather dependent). Enjoy the fresh air and get in your laps this spring!

2) Maple Sugaring

There’s a sweetness in the air when it comes to spring in Stowe, and that is maple sugar season! Beginning in February, maple sugar houses in the area begin producing Vermont’s famous maple syrup. Stock up on fresh, authentic Vermont maple syrup and support our local maple  sugaring operations at Trapp Family Lodge, Nebraska Knoll and Stowe Maple Products.

3) Craft Beverages

Kick back and relax with some of the best craft beverages around. From cider and beer, to wine, spirits and other craft beverages, the Stowe area is home to amazing beverage producers. Cider lovers can indulge at Cold Hollow Cider Mill or check a unique variety at Stowe Cider on Mountain Road. If you are looking for wine time, set up a tasting with Ellison Estate Vineyard or check out Cork Natural Wine Bar or Dedalus Wine. If you are looking to indulge in the beer scene grab a bite and some brews at Idletyme Brewing Co. and the von Trapp Brewing Bierhall or take a tour with 4 Points VT. For a variety, stop by one of Stowe’s markets or restaurants with local drinks on tap.

4) Fishing

Depending on the weather, you may be able to do some early spring ice fishing on our local frozen lakes and ponds. As temperatures rise throughout spring, the rivers will be flowing. Trout fishing season opens in the Green Mountain State in mid-April. If you’re looking for local experts, Stowe’s guides come highly recommended. The Fly Rod Shop and Catamount Fishing Adventures both offer tours and local expertise for your spring fishing adventures.

5) Arts & Culture

Explore Stowe’s art scene this spring. Whether you attend a virtual concert with Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center, a class with Helen Day Art Center, or check out glass blowers at Ziemke Glass Blowing or Little River Hotglass Studio, there are many creative ways to discover and take in arts and culture on your trip. Many of Stowe’s shops also sell works by
local artists and crafters.

6) Spas & Wellness

After the unusual year we have had, take time to relax and unwind at one of Stowe’s world-class spa and wellness centers. Rejuvenate with private massages and tranquil environments all with mountain landscape view. The Yoga Barn and wellness centers at resorts offer ways to tie in fitness to your adventure.
