Stowe offers more than just breathtaking views in the fall; it’s also known for its world-class dining. This fall, take time to savor the flavors and experience some of the local restaurants in Stowe, named by Fodor’s Travel as one of the “World’s 10 Best Ski Towns for Foodies.” Read on for three ways you can dine in Stowe with a view this fall. Be sure to plan ahead for a seamless experience during the busy fall foliage season!

Outdoor Patios

Dine outdoors while the weather is warm by enjoying some of the many patios and outdoor seating options available. Experience a piece of history for breakfast and lunch at the locally recommended Trapp Family Kaffeehaus. While visiting the postcard-worthy historic downtown of Stowe, try Harrison’s Restaurant & Bar to experience a variety of top-notch cuisine.

Insider Tip: Check out food events like the Food and Beverage Showcase—A Taste of New England for interactive chef demonstrations, food and beverage tastings, and much more, happening at The Lodge at Spruce Peak.

Intimate Indoor Atmospheres

If you are looking for a unique atmosphere during your stay, check out Wildflower for breakfast and brunch, and their brand new speakeasy called Cottontail—both located at the Grey Fox Inn & Resort. For a more intimate indoor setting, visit Cork Wine Bar for an excellent glass of wine and dinner with a stunning terrace view. For a bucket list-worthy lunch, take the Gondola SkyRide up to The Cliff House Restaurant. Here you can enjoy spectacular panoramic-view seating with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the surrounding alpine peaks.

Insider Tip: Dine outside on the deck at the Cliff House Restaurant as the weather permits.

Take-out and Curbside Pick-up

Whether you are looking for a casual bite after a long hike or a place to take food out for a picnic along the Stowe Recreation Path, Stowe has you covered. Try Umami, a dedicated take-out joint located in the village, featuring food inspired by Japan, Thailand, and the Szechuan and Cantonese regions of China. For a place that locals love, Skinny Pancake is sure to please with specialty crepes made with flavors and ingredients that are local to Vermont.

Insider Tip: Bring a blanket or chairs and walk along the soft and grassy Quiet Path for a picnic spot along the water with Mt. Mansfield views.

To make your trip and experience as smooth as possible, be sure to check restaurant hours of operation in advance, and make restaurant reservations early! Space can fill up fast with many restaurants modifying their hours due to staffing and seasonal changes. Restaurants appreciate your understanding and patience as they accommodate you during one of the busiest seasons of the year and also during a particularly challenging time.
