3 Ways to Celebrate the Fourth of July in Stowe

When it comes to celebrating Independence Day, Stowe, Vermont overflows with small town charm. With parades, firework shows, concerts, and family-friendly festivities there are so many ways to have a little fun this Fourth of July. Grab your family, friends and red, white and blue to celebrate with us in Stowe.

Parades

Admire the floats of local residents and businesses as they parade through Stowe on July 4. Kick off the day with the Moscow Parade, the 40 year-old event  begins at 10 a.m. and takes place every year, rain or shine. Then head into the Stowe Village for the iconic Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration, hosted by Stowe Vibrancy. Get ready for a full day of festivities and food, beginning with the parade at 12 p.m.

Rockin’ Celebrations

In addition to the Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration on the fourth, you can get the party started early with additional celebrations taking place all weekend long! Spruce Peak’s Independence Celebration Weekend starts off with a bang on Friday, July 1 with  elevated BBQ, live music, lawn games, and more culminating in live music and fireworks over the mountain on Sunday, July 3. In between Friday and Sunday, head to the Tälta Lodge 4th of July Celebration on Saturday, July 2 for more live music, food trucks, and a showing of the Teton Gravity Research Film, Esperanto.

Fireworks

Stowe, Vermont was ranked third in Country Living’s list of best places to watch fireworks in 2022. See what all the buzz is about with the Old-Fashioned Fourth of July firework show, held in conjunction with the Town of Stowe. At 6 p.m. head down to the Mayo Fields for one of Vermont’s best and largest displays of fireworks starting at dusk! If you want a special start to the holiday, check out fireworks over the mountain at Spruce Peak on the evening of July 3 for an extra dose of weekend fun. 

Plan ahead for a stress-free time by securing your lodging, making restaurant reservations and booking your activities in advance. If you are in town for the weekend, there are plenty of other festivities to join in on as well, including the Stowe Farmers’ Market, Jazz Brunch at Skinny Pancake, and wine tastings at Trapp Family Lodge and Cork Restaurant & Natural Wine Shop. Don’t forget to stop by the Stowe Visitor Information Center to take a festive picture on the lawn!
